Reviews

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

  • Aria’s review: 5 Stars

    • All I can say is…. Noah… Shaw… my new favorite character! This book was such a mess, (“a beautiful mess”, to quote Michelle Hodkin) but I loved it!

  • Lauren's Review: 4.5 Stars

    • Ok.

                This book...

I really don't know why I'm having such a hard time writing this but I am.

I think that I loved this book because it was so very different from everything else I have been reading recently. It's not dystopian, but it's just WEIRD. You have to feel so sorry for the main character and what she has to go through, primarily because she has as little knowledge of what is happening to her brain as you do. In some parts of this book, I just thought "That is SO messed up". Usually that would change my opinion on the book, but somehow it just made me want to keep reading! While sometimes I find it hard to agree with character's decisions in other books, I felt like I understood why Mara Dyer made the decisions she did, even if I didn't always agree. Also, the dialogue was just great. I could never say those consistently witty comebacks if I tried.

               But THE END.

               WHAAAAAAAAAAA??????

I won't say more because of spoilers but I had absolutely no idea what was going on. What exactly happened, who did it, and why???

*Sigh* I guess I just need to read the next book and find out.

The Evolution of Mara Dyer

  • Aria's Review: 4 Stars

    • The Evolution was, I think, my least favorite of them. TBH, nothing really happened in it, and the cliffhanger at the end did NOT help my opinion of it. What I mean is that is was a sort of space filler until the Retribution of Mara Dyer came out.

The Retribution of Mara Dyer

  • Aria's Review: 5 Stars

    • The last button on this series did not disappoint. It wrapped everything up nicely with just the right amount of suspense, humor, action and (yes romance :P) After reading the second book, Evolution, I literally went into depression what with the cliffhanger, and the beginning of this book did not help… AT ALL! The plot twist at the end, too, is a bit cray cray and confusing, but it did make up for the beginning :)(Spoiler: Dr. Kells claims Noah is dead)
